# Official Indian documents: Masked Aadhaar and DigiLocker

Your Aadhaar and a document fetched from its issuer need different checks from a scan you make yourself. These guides start with the official service and explain how to keep the original electronic file available.

For a copy with fewer visible Aadhaar digits, read [how to obtain Masked Aadhaar from UIDAI](https://dokus.app/en-in/download-masked-aadhaar/). For education records and other issuer documents, check [Issued Documents and uploads in DigiLocker](https://dokus.app/en-in/digilocker-issued-documents-and-uploads/) before choosing what to submit.

## [DigiLocker issued documents or uploaded scans: which should you send?](https://dokus.app/en-in/digilocker-issued-documents-and-uploads/)

Understand Issued Documents and DigiLocker Drive, retrieve the issuer’s version and keep official files separate from personal scans.
