Ask the employer or agent for the exact format and limit before changing a readable scan. Use conversion only when they actually require a different format, and compression only when the scan exceeds their stated limit. The initial 1 MB target is an editing choice; it is not a government requirement. ## A reference scan before the work-permit filing TCI’s official work-permit guidance calls for certified evidence and sometimes originals. Use this converter for an agreed employer or agent pre-check. It does not provide that certification. ## Prepare the requested PDF 1. Confirm the document and pages the employer or agent needs for the reference check. 2. Open the passport page or police-record image. Select Passport for the passport, or Police record or supporting document for a paper scan. 3. Correct rotation and crop the surrounding table without removing seals, signatures, borders or endorsements. Select PDF. 4. Download, open and inspect the complete scan. Keep the original or certified filing evidence separately. ## One complete document for one review Keep the passport and police record as separate items. This tool prepares one document and its reverse, not a packet of unrelated application papers. A long police record must remain complete; do not process a PDF over the ten-page input cap. Letter is the starting sheet size, with A4 available. The standard Passport layout uses a 125 by 88 mm page; the paper-document preset fits the scan to the page. Neither layout establishes a required enlargement. An image PDF loses digital signatures and interactive fields. If your police record is an original electronically signed PDF, keep that original for filing and use this workflow only when a reference image is appropriate. ## Check the saved copy Choose JPG, PNG, supported HEIC or PDF up to 25 MB.
