Of a PDF, the first 10 pages are used. A card can have two sides: add the back after the front. - **Out:** a JPG or a PDF, saved to your downloads. The location and other data your camera stored in the photo are removed. A PDF holds an image of each page, so its text can no longer be selected. - **Documents:** passports, ID cards, driver's licenses, residence permits, or any one-page document. ## Why nothing is uploaded The tools are code that runs in the page you opened. Your browser reads the file you choose and draws the copy on your own device, the same way a web page can preview a photo before sending anything. No server receives the document, and the copy you download is the only thing left once you close the tab. You can check it yourself: open a tool, turn on airplane mode, and make a copy. It still works, because there was never anywhere to send the file. That matters for an identity document in particular. A passport or license scan holds your name, date of birth, number and photo together, which is what someone needs to open an account in your name. The fewer places a copy passes through, the fewer places it can leak from, and a watermark ties each copy you do send to the one recipient and purpose you gave it. ## Common questions ### Are these tools free? Yes. They are free, with no sign-up, no limit on how many copies you make, and no mark of ours on the result. ### Do the tools upload my document anywhere? No. The file is read and processed by your browser on your own device, and the copy is saved straight to your downloads. Once the page has loaded, the tools keep working with the internet turned off. ### Do they work on a phone? Yes, in the browser of an iPhone, an iPad, an Android phone or a computer. On an iPhone, choose the photo from your library: it arrives as a JPG, which every browser can open. ### Can I use more than one tool on the same copy? Yes. Every tool can crop, rotate and blur before it saves, so you can hide a number and watermark the copy in one go on the watermark page. To fit that copy under a size limit as well, open it in the compress tool afterwards. ### What is Dokus?
