Identity and income are different pieces of evidence
The Privacy Commissioner's rental guidance discusses passport and driver licence copies for identity checks. Consumer Protection's renting checklist covers income evidence and describes covering statement transactions a landlord does not need. Prepare each requested attachment for its own purpose rather than sending your entire document folder.
Ask about the agency's identity-verification and deletion process. There is no national 1 MB tenancy rule: use the recipient's actual attachment ceiling. A purpose label is optional wording for the particular sharing context, not a legal identity check.
Files, privacy and originals
Open JPG, PNG, supported HEIC or PDF up to 25 MB. Only the first ten PDF pages are used; prepare the required page range before opening a longer file. HEIC availability depends on your browser. Processing stays on your device, with no document upload or account, and camera metadata is removed from the copy.
The exported PDF contains images of its pages. Selectable text, digital signatures and interactive fields are not preserved. Keep the complete original separately and inspect the saved copy before sending.

Can I process a digitally signed document?
The tools redraw PDF pages as images, so signatures, selectable text and interactive fields do not survive. Keep the original when those features matter.
