How to redact the agreed BHB identity-reference copy
- Agree the document and fields with the Privacy Officer before editing.
- Open the passport or licence scan and use Blur to draw a box over each agreed unnecessary field.
- Check the reverse, repeated document numbers and machine-readable lines as well as the first visible field.
- Save JPG or PDF as agreed, reopen it and check both the covered regions and the required visible details.
Keep enough evidence to identify the requester
An address, date of birth or document number may be needed to distinguish your file. Do not apply the same redactions to every request, and do not hide details the officer needs simply because the tool allows it.
The selected pixels are replaced in the export. The saved covered region has no removable original-text layer, but the same information can remain on another page or outside your box. Review the whole copy.
The personal-information request form is separate from the clinical-records process. Follow BHB’s specific process rather than assuming a redacted ID image alone authorises disclosure.
Check the saved copy
Choose JPG, PNG, supported HEIC or PDF up to 25 MB. Only the first ten pages of an input PDF are processed. Download JPG or an image-based PDF; selectable text, fillable fields and digital signatures are not preserved. Keep any original signed or fillable file.
The document is processed in your browser without an account or document upload. The downloaded copy removes camera metadata and leaves the source unchanged.
