Choose NRIC, add the reverse and download one PDF with both sides on A4. CEA’s rental checklist distinguishes citizen and PR identity-card checks from foreign-tenant passport and pass checks. A copy does not replace checking the original or the person.

Prepare the records for a residential tenancy check

CEA’s private-residential rental checklist calls for identity-card validity checks for Singapore citizens and permanent residents, and passport/pass details for non-residents. Ask the agent which record is required for your own situation.

Prepare the requested copy for that agency and tenancy. It does not replace the original-document, face-to-face or official validity checks the transaction requires.

Put NRIC front and back in one PDF

  1. Choose the front and back photos together. Use the arrows between thumbnails if their order needs swapping.
  2. Select NRIC. The tool crops the background and straightens the card; choose Adjust if its corners need correction.
  3. Keep Front and back on one sheet for a single A4 page, or switch it off for a page per side if that is what the recipient requests.
  4. Choose PDF, download and open the saved file. Both sides, including the reverse-side address when required, must be readable.

For a Singapore passport, select Singapore passport and use the identity page. For a full-page supporting scan, choose Document. This converter does not create the portrait photograph used to apply for a passport or NRIC.

A4 layout at the size the recipient asks for

A4 is 210 by 297 mm. The NRIC preset uses the 85.6 by 54 mm card layout; the passport-page layout is 125 by 88 mm. These are copy-layout presets, not an issuer’s measurement certificate. Print at Actual Size for the 100% setting. Enlargement is optional, not a Singapore-wide 150% requirement.

Before sharing an NRIC copy, ask why it is needed and whether a less detailed alternative is accepted. PDPC’s guidance cautions against excessive collection of information on the card. That does not mean every recipient can accept hidden fields: a required identity check may need the complete details.

A scan is a reference copy. It does not become the interactive Digital IC in Singpass or replace an original where the service requires one.

Use Compress when a portal rejects the file size. Add a watermark or hide details only when accepted by the recipient.

File handling

Choose JPG, PNG, HEIC or PDF up to 25 MB. HEIC depends on browser support; choosing a photo from the iPhone library can provide JPG. Only the first ten pages of an input PDF are used. The output is JPG or an image-based PDF: selectable text, form fields and digital signatures are not preserved. Keep the original when those features matter.

Processing stays in your browser, with no document upload or account. The downloaded copy removes camera metadata and leaves your chosen source unchanged.

Common questions

Can I combine the front and back of my NRIC for free?

Yes. Select the two photos and keep Front and back on one sheet. A4 is the default; check whether the recipient wants one page or two.

Is the PDF a Singpass Digital IC?

No. It is an image-based copy of the photos you selected. Use Singpass for a service that requires its Digital IC or verification flow.

Does Singapore require an enlarged 150% NRIC copy?

This page does not establish such a rule. Start with the recipient’s instructions; 100%, 150% and 200% are layout choices, not national requirements.
